With close to 6,000 Colorado fathers participating in local fatherhood programs since October 2006, the PRF Initiative has a lot to celebrate. On Monday, June 20, 2011, the success of the PRF Initiative was commemorated with a front-page story in The Denver Post. This article highlighted the steps one Colorado dad, Richard Jama, took to regain custody of his young daughter as well as the results the PRF Initiative has seen in terms if increased child support payments among program participants. An analysis of several hundred program participants in 2010 revealed an increase of more than 37 percent in child support payments from the time of enrollment to three months after the completion of a fatherhood program. Within the Jefferson County Fatherhood Program specifically, a 62 percent decrease in arrears owed by dads following the completion of the program was observed.
