Blog Contest Winner

Since the launch of the Colorado Dads Web site, our Watercooler Blog has served as a place where fathers and fatherhood practitioners could post their views of fatherhood and family. To make this section more interactive, we launched a blog entry contest. Dads were asked to submit their answer to the question: “What does being a dad mean to you?”

Robert Fleming begins his winning entry:

“The responsibility of raising my daughter with a commitment to consistency, unconditional love, dedication, guidance and being a good listener is the most important decision I have made in my life. I understand that my decisions, attitude, and love have a profound influence in how my child will ultimately make her own decisions throughout life. I travel throughout the year and when we share those precious moments together it’s quite obvious to me that my influences good or bad have an impact on how she anticipates and processes daily choices. . . . The Fastbreak for Fathers Blog is my place to ramble about issues related to fatherhood and parenting, our Watercooler Blog is for you to express your thoughts. Submit your entries to Maggie or myself, and don’t forget we always welcome your comments on existing posts.
